Frequently asked questions.
Why use POs and SOs instead of just writing tickets?
Orders lock in the terms — material, price, quantity, dates, freight — before material moves, so the scale house and finance both work from the agreed deal instead of reconstructing it after the fact.
Can we write open orders as well as specific ones?
Yes. Orders support a range of specificity, from open arrangements with a supplier through to firm quantity-and-price commitments, which reflects how scrap deals are actually negotiated.
How do we know how much of an order is fulfilled?
Fulfillment tracks against the order as tickets post, showing percentage complete per order. Open, partially fulfilled, and closed orders are visible in one board.
What documents come out of an order?
PO and SO summaries, material lists, and packing lists, generated as PDF, CSV, or text. For export sales orders, the commercial terms on the order flow into the shipping documents.
Do orders drive pricing on tickets automatically?
Yes. When a ticket is written against an order, the order's contracted price applies rather than the current published price list, which is what keeps contract deals from being paid at spot.
